I would like to start by using this lens adapted to the Sony a7 and it works great although it is an unorthodox lens for mine camera is. have greater sharpness and color rendition at open aperture. I also like bokeh at macro distances. It's not as versatile as the shorter macro, but I needed a longer focal length for butterflies and dragonflies and find it to be the ideal focal length for this application. I also like the large manual focus ring, which is very smooth at long range. I don't use autofocus, so I won't comment on how autofocus works. I was looking for classic 200mm primes as I'm not too keen on autofocus for macro photography, but they were similarly priced (and sometimes more expensive). . I'm happy with my decision and would recommend it to anyone willing to make the effort. It's difficult to focus at macro distances, but that's not the lens' fault.
