First time writing great reviews for this camera. I took some pictures and videos outside. When zoomed out, everything looked fantastic. Then I started shooting indoors and editing my full size images. Wow what a big disappointment. This camera is not worth the money. That's over $200 in frustration. I took some pictures inside. Wow. Incredibly terrible. Unless you're shooting indoors with insanely bright light, expect lots of noise in your photos. I could barely save photos that could be printed over 5x7 because the noise was so strong. I was trying to take photos during a special occasion dinner at the restaurant (the restaurant was dimly lit like most) and ALL BUT THREE of my photos were blurry and full of noise (and I took 25 photos!). I'm going on holiday in two weeks and have returned this camera to the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. Yes, that's $90 more, but I think fixing Sony's terrible indoor picture quality is more than worth it, and the DMC-ZS3 adds a TON of extra features (and 12x zoom). EVERY image captured by the DSC-W290 is grainy. Does it work for 4x6 and 5x7 images? Of course. If you want something more or expect full-size images to be cropped and scaled, forget it. This camera takes the smoothest photos I've seen in its class. It's just a big disappointment on all levels. Spend another $75-$100 and get a camera with great image quality. Sony tried to fill it with the latest features, forgetting one important thing: this is a camera - it should take good photos. It's not like this.
