I bought this camera to be able to take it everywhere without worrying about damage. I take it with me for cycling, hiking and many other activities. This camera is pretty solid and it's great that I don't have to worry about it getting wet or falling in water. I like its looks and all the features. It has a good flash for the dark and when you need it. It works great even in low light and without a flash. One of the things I really like is that it has an optical zoom, which is great. It magnifies great and makes it nice and close even when you don't. If you think the optical zoom is a problem if it gets damaged or sticks out, don't worry. The lens is internal, so to speak, as it sits behind the glass lens that is part of the camera. You can see it moving towards the lens if you look at it. Either way, this is a great camera so far. I pretty much leave it on Auto because there are so many settings/choices in the menu that it can get confusing. You can use a microfiber cloth to clean the lens if it gets dirty. This is a durable, beautiful, functional, high-resolution, multi-functional camera!
