Review on HDMI to 1080P Component Video (YPbPr) Scaler Converter Adapter with Coaxial Audio Output + R / L Audio - Windows 10 Compatible (Black) by Ray Sheptock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far this is an amazing product with an Xbox One and an old school TV!

I bought this converter for both its converting ability (HDMI to component) and its ability to scale to many different resolutions. This was bought to connect an Xbox One to an old school Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV (WS-55315) which would only be 480P or 1080i. In case you don't know, the original Xbox One only outputs 480P (not recommended), 720P or 1080P. Although some games have some overscan issues (very slight image cropping in all four corners) which is entirely due to a TV bug as this old school TV doesn't have the option to disable overscan like the newer models, the system works still . very playable. With the Xbox One set to 720p output and the converter upscaled to 1080i this set top box works perfectly and gives me a very crisp and clear HD picture that makes the Xbox One look amazing even on this old TV. I've played for many hours so far and this box has never crashed, heated up or given me any other problems (however only time will tell how durable it is). I also have audio output to my stereo receiver and the audio quality is also very good. Here's the best part and I'm sure all players will be hoping for my answer. Is there a backlog? The answer to that question is no, or at least my son and I don't notice anything at all. The controller input experience is no different than the experience I had with my Xbox 360 (which can play 1080i) connected to the same TV with component cables. Overall, as long as this thing performs like this over the long term, I'd say it was a great buy, especially for the price.
