TLDR; This cable fits snugly under the mat and so far the signal quality is fine. Good price. I would be concerned if this was a higher traffic area as it's still a bit high on the carpet. I use this cable in my home office. In the current configuration, my desk is opposite where I placed the receiver (and where the speakers are). This is to ensure a good soundstage from my two working positions (table and couch). I had two options: run the cables through the attic or cheat and run them under the carpet. At first I tried using a very thin optical cable but it was excruciating to get the correct encoding(s) to work. Get the computer to encode properly using DTS Connect (or similar). After some fiddling (success with music but loss of concentration with some games and movies) I decided to look elsewhere. Turns out HDMI easily solves this problem, I just plugged my graphics card's spare HDMI into the receiver and everything works as expected. Now the problem is that the cable is too thick to hide. This cable solved that problem by being _JUST_ thin enough for it to work. If it was an area with higher traffic I would be concerned.
