Note that the laptop compartment opens when the zippers are closed. This can happen slowly or quickly. I leave work with my bags closed and ten minutes later the zipper unzips. I recognize when it's moving strangely behind me, or when I see my reflection in a building and see my contents. It's not very convenient to check if my backpack is still closed. When I think about putting it to the side, everything seems fine. I don't have to remember to hold the zippers in a specific spot to keep them closed. The space inside the backpack is more vertical than horizontal. You need to stack items on top of each other to store the books. This means your books will be damaged. With all of its compartments in the laptop section, it would be better if they weren't there, and the large compartment has been made larger. This makes it awkward to place items like chargers inside and having a bulge in the main compartment before putting anything inside. I did not use a portable charging plug. Ironically, I bought this bag to replace my backpack with a broken zipper. I will have to buy a new backpack as I cannot prevent my laptop from being stolen.
