Review on πŸ“· Sony Cybershot DSC-H7 8.1MP Digital Camera - 15x Optical Zoom, Image Stabilization (OLD MODEL) by Chris Horton

Poor quality compared to F-828

I had a Sony F-828 and made the mistake of selling it to buy h7. I thought the f-828 was an 8.0 megapixel camera and the h7 was an 8.1 megapixel camera and I thought I had a slightly better camera, god how wrong I was! Image quality is not as sharp compared to the old 828. This means that the processor in the h7 is not as good as in my old camera. So if you are looking for ultra-sharp details, h7 is not for you! When I bought the camera, I also bought a 1.7x telephoto lens and a 0.75x wide-angle lens. These were very nice lenses out of the box, but they really aren't that great for the money they cost. Two things I liked and disliked about the h7 were its light weight and 15x optical zoom. However, being so light made it feel very cheap, and the bad part about the zoom is that it's motorized, which means battery life suffers (it's just something else that can go wrong too could and must be repaired). and you can't quietly adjust the zoom as precisely as you would with a manual lens mount. In other words, if you're serious about photography then go ahead because h7 just won't get it. a decent camera for the money and not critical for the quality of the photos, then this camera will do exactly what you need. That's why I gave this camera 3 stars. Luckily I sold the h7 and accessories (lost money) but have now switched to a real Sony A350 DSLR which is very similar to the F-828 but even better. Hope this helps, happy shooting!
