Review on πŸŽ’ Osprey Packs Arcane Large Daypack: A Perfect Blend of Style and Functionality by Irma Brown

Great canvas construction but too minimal for a fan fanatic

Osprey's Arcane Backpack is a cross between a large bag and a backpack. It's simple design and function. 18L capacity backpack is slim with a top zip closure and smaller side zip pocket and is lined for support and comfort. On the plus side, you get guaranteed Osprey construction in a solid-bottomed canvas case. Fabric, ribbed fabric-covered foam back and a pair of elastic shoulder straps for storage. The inside of the laptop sleeve features a one-sided padded pocket with Velcro closure, a vertical slip pocket and a smaller zippered storage pocket. For the dark gray exterior model, I call the interior color slate blue. It fits my fat 15" laptop as well as a 13" ultrabook or 13" Mac with room to slip in a couple of documents or a presentation or two and a bunch of other items. But at the same time, I felt a little scattered as I filled the bag from the top like a tote bag. One of the shoulder straps comes off easily for reasons I can't explain - the description says it's a safety feature. As a current user of other Osprey items, I respect the design but don't like the look and main compartment. The form I found was a bit cumbersome to manage. As for the interior, I prefer to charge my chargers and other essentials one by one. None of this is insurmountable, but the design has proven detrimental to what I get from the traditional 3/4-zip backpack shape, in my opinion - pockets for my chargers, drinks, sunglasses, etc. It didn't let five- star article. For these reasons, I'm not enthusiastic about continuing to use it on a daily basis, but it's still a well-constructed backpack for more limited use as a backpack for my 15-inch laptop when I need to carry it around.
