Maytag Model #MDB7749SBM2 This works great for my Maytag Model #MDB7749SBM2. Our dishwasher started acting strangely and eventually just stopped cleaning. The headlights flickered randomly. It's a quick and easy installation that shouldn't take more than 30 minutes for anyone with basic mechanical skills. Look for Maytag Dishwasher Repair - Faulty Control Panel W10438345-B for a decent getting started video. You will need a T-10 Torx bit. Unplug the dishwasher or flip the switch. There are 4 screws at the top of the door, unscrew them. You should then see 3 more screws on each side of the door. I removed the 4 (2 on each side) closest to the top of the door and just unclipped the bottom 2 (1 on each side). The door panel will come off, but not completely. The control panel should now be fairly loose. You will need to unplug the pigtail from either the ribbon (flat ribbon connector) or behind the front door panel (rectangular connector). My new panel came with a white blank that goes behind the front door. I disabled my old panel from there. Simply plug in the new panel and line up the 6 plastic tabs at the top of the door panel and then squeeze everything together while holding onto one of them. I then replaced one of the top corner screws that I removed earlier and almost tightened it. Then I screwed in all the other screws, made sure everything was aligned and tightened them all. Don't forget the 2 bottom screws you didn't remove. Plug the dishwasher back in or turn the switch back on. Mine caught fire immediately but the pilot light was on. Hold this for 3 or 4 seconds. Now everything should work. Hope this helps someone else.
