Didn't get rid of any smell.
I put half of this in one machine and half in the other. My jeep was open and water got onto the carpet and now that the top is back on there is a slight musty smell coming from it. I left them there for a week with no change in smell. At another car, the dealer accidentally spilled some deodorant into the car when the lid of an aerosol can broke off. Carpets tried washing with shampoo but the smell stayed. The same after a week of their stay there. I'm not sure what its actual purpose or use is, but it's not there to remove bad smells.
