I bought the Aqua Elegant hand shower to replace the most basic hand shower in my apartment bathroom. It was very easy to replace, literally took 15 seconds! All I had to do with my bare hands was unscrew the old shower head from the hose (turn counterclockwise a couple of times) and then screw on the new shower head. into the end of the hose (by turning clockwise several times). That's all! I didn't have to use teflon tape at all or mess around with anything else. I left the o-ring and stopper in place. I didn't feel the need to take them off as this shower head was still a massive improvement over the simplest I had previously installed. The old one I had was a 1.5 GPM hand held shower with only two spray settings. Aqua Elegante has a flow rate of 2.5 GPM (including restrictor) with 6 spray patterns. The difference between 1.5 GPM and 2.5 GPM was quite significant. If you remove the limiter it becomes a 3.5 GPM shower head in my opinion. But that would be too much for me. At just 2.5 GPM with the limiter engaged, the pressure is insanely high! Very pleasant and therapeutic. Another benefit of higher water flow is that hot water comes out hotter. If you are using a low pressure shower head the water may not activate the heater properly, you will get lukewarm water instead. This Aqua Elegante shower head definitely made my water hotter when I set it to hot. I have absolutely no leaks even though I didn't use teflon tape or anything like that. If you're removing the restrictor, using Teflon might be a good idea. Enjoy!
