Over the years I've played with a lot of kids with different friction machines. I had a hard time getting half of them to leave as adults. It doesn't apply to these. They work so well and so easily that my 11 month deadline can get them to work on their own. They work best on more textured surfaces, but they still work well with our hardwood floors. We also have playmats for them to jump over and keep going. (We have one from another brand that gets stuck when it hits something.) They also hit something and change direction to keep going. I am very impressed with the functionality and quality.
