I bought this mic based on the reviews I saw, got one and didn't like the sound, replaced it with a second one and got the same poor sound quality. I've seen it compared to a Sennheiser 416 and this mic just couldn't come close. It's almost like a manufacturing defect which is why the sound is so bad. As an audio engineer, there were no tricks to making the sound sound better than just good. I would be willing to try one that works and sounds right. I bought it because I was planning to go on a trip and my friend recommended it for its ability to cancel noise coming from behind the microphone. But there was no way to send a customer a product that sounded like that.
