Navy or khaki shorts are required for nursery. Despite the elasticated waist, the shorts my grandson tried on touched the ground as he walked. He's a skinny kid! The smaller sizes were too short on the body. The Children's Place salesperson told us that slim sizes are available online. They arrived two days later and fitted his tiny waist, hips and disembodied body perfectly. These aren't the heavier weight canvas cargo shorts that older boys might prefer, but they are longer and have all the essential pockets. Light weight is good for Georgia fall and spring school days. I ordered a trial pair first and am now ordering four more.
