I read some reviews and my manufacturer recommended heating with a hair dryer for about 10 minutes but I only did 5 minutes. I'm not sure if it would be a little harder to tighten the handlebars if I didn't, but I tightened the cover myself. It was also recommended for two people to apply, but I didn't find it difficult to apply it myself. I started at the top and then drew the bottom sides. I recommend orienting the cover how you want it to look when fully fitted simply because the inside of the steering wheel cover has rubber that prevents the cover from moving or adjusting once it's on the wheel. I've been using it for a couple of months, the quality is the same, no complaints.
