I bought these to add a sound system to my shop/garage. Based on the reviews I thought they were a good choice and the sound is ok. The problem I had was that each speaker has two threaded mounting inserts (top and bottom) that the suspension brackets attach to. One speaker came unthreaded from the factory so there was no way to attach the bracket to the bottom of the speaker! I didn't want to return them because I really wanted to complete the project. I have a Tap & Die set, so is it difficult to add multiple threads? Well it turns out it's not very easy. As I started, a small metal insert broke off and fell into the speaker. I had to pry off the grille, unscrew and disconnect the bass and remove the insert. While it was free I put the insert in the vise to thread it. I glued it on (as originally fitted), assembled the speaker, climbed the stairs, and as soon as I tried to screw the bracket to the speaker, the insert came loose again. I attached the speaker to the top of the bracket, then removed the woofer and used pliers to hold the insert through the speaker hole while I screwed the bottom to the bracket. I then reconnected the woofer wires, screwed them down and reattached the grille (while on the stairs). As said, now that they're installed the speakers sound good, but the quality control (or better lack of it) and the inconvenience of having to fix things (rather than sending them back and waiting for another shipment) definitely lose out. stars from me. By the way, if you get into the situation I got into, the tap size is 10-32 NC.
