Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Sony XB20 Red Bluetooth Portable Wireless Speaker: Enhance your Listening Experience! by Marcus Loeffler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great sound and solid construction. Exceptional bass response.

Update 2: Upgrade from 4 to 5 stars. The more I use this speaker, the more impressed I am. The bass response is exceptional for such a small device. Update 1: Okay, I'm an idiot. The "Evening Lights" can actually be turned off by holding down the "Extra Bass" button. Eventually I figured it out, but the instructions don't mention it anywhere. my bad. Original Rating: For the price, this is a very solid speaker with great sound. I would compare this little Sony in both size and sound quality to my Bose SoundLink Mini, which costs twice as much. It's close, but I'd say the Sony sounds better and revs a little louder than the Bose. The bass response is really good. Personally, I would always leave the Extra Bass button on. The sound fills a large room wonderfully. Another interesting feature is that the device is waterproof, which is important when you're taking this little guy for a walk. And if you want to buy a pair of these units to create a stereo sound system, you can simply daisy chain and daisy chain more than one of these speakers. All in all I'm impressed. And as far as I know, the only downside to this speaker is the "Party" feature. The thin plastic bar surrounding the speaker grille is a light bar that pulses and flashes to the beat of the music. It's funny, but I wish this feature could be turned off. Kids might like the pulsating light and it can be fun in certain environments, but I don't think it's for everyone. That's not for me. I don't always listen to dance music. It could be rap, it could be metal, it could be talk radio. It would be nice to use a simple on/off switch for the dancing lights.

Pros
  • Add an extra speaker for stereo sound
Cons
  • Upgradeable
