I keep buying this keyboard because I like the feel, the look and the size. My old one didn't break, but the battery leaked acid and broke it. Fits in a laptop bag, great keyboard. I also wanted a Unifying USB jack version so it could be replaced with my other Unifying devices. My delivered refurbished item was shiny with no 45 degree gradient in the picture so I was happy. But I was also able to remove the old keyboard background film and replace it with a new glossy film. My old one has a matte (not glossy) finish so it doesn't glare and is less irritating to the eyes. Another tip: if you want a matte finish you can remove the top layer of the background and what's underneath is matte on my versions.
