sounds great

I'm not a real music lover but I play musical instruments and have a certain ability to appreciate different styles of music. I've never owned a speaker system of this quality and the speaker system I've used most of the time doesn't even come close. The phone app you use to control your speaker has some interesting settings to let the sound fill your room. different ways. I think putting it against a wall or in a corner will trigger the rear speakers with a slight delay, allowing the sound to bounce off the wall and the overall effect to mimic the sound stage effect you get with a stereo speaker setup. The effect isn't as convincing as with individual speakers, and depending on the recording, some recordings sound more separated than others. Overall, the picture sounds quite good for a single speaker. The app only has bass and treble settings, which I find totally inadequate. This is a high fidelity unit and you can hear some really subtle sounds, especially with well-recorded orchestral music. Running the sound through the graphic equalizer gives you a lot more control over which sounds you want to emphasize. I've noticed that the studio compression on some popular pieces of music really comes through with this speaker - I think I'm hearing more about how the recording was processed because the speaker really captures everything that's in there. Music that sounds shrill, jarring, or hissing to my ears without violating frequency balance sounds a lot better on this unit. I don't even listen to loud music because of a small hearing impairment that makes loud noises annoying. The sound is great. The processing seems flawless. It does get warm in the center due to the amp, which shouldn't surprise me, but I've never noticed a wireless speaker getting warm. Is the investment worth it? I do not know. Perhaps if you listen to more demanding music like classical and want something like that for aesthetic reasons this would be a good choice. Unless you listen to music that's been mixed and mastered for high-fidelity listening, that might be overkill.
