So far this is a great choice. It actually keeps my towels/clothes/robe completely warm. I tried a towel warmer for the first time and it was a huge disappointment. Because of their design, they simply aren't capable of warming a towel. It's just too expensive to have a wall space to hang it up. This heater gets the job done and I love it! A few tips and things to keep in mind... 1) In this case, the 6 minute heat rating only refers to how long it takes for the bucket itself to heat up to its maximum. Warmth. To warm up the contents, you should leave them there for at least 10 minutes. 15 or more is ideal, but I find that 10 minutes actually heats up to the desired heat level. Especially when I'm in a hurry and 10 minutes is all I have. 2) The size is more than enough for a family. It easily holds 2 to 3 medium towels and 2 large towels at a time. It's also easy to swap out yours for a new one so the next person in line can use the bathroom. Again, it heats up pretty quickly so there are likely to be new towels ready for the next person. 3) Rolled up or folded towel provides better and faster heat retention. Throw your things everywhere and there will be cold places. That is why the heated towel rail does not do its job. The towel is too loose to retain heat no matter how hot the rack itself gets. get wet and I'm still close enough to get my stuff right out of the shower. It wasn't difficult to find a balance. 5) In terms of power consumption, it doesn't turn off my switch when it and the wi-fi heater are on at the same time. I'm not an electronics expert, so I can't tell you anything about that. It works for my situation, so... 6) Is there a risk of getting burned? Yes, but it's pretty flimsy unless you're trying to play scones in the damn thing. Lift the lid by the edge, grab items from the center and lift straight out. I didn't find it difficult not to touch the walls or floor because it's so spacious. If your kids are going to use it, give them a crash course on how to use it safely. This is a one button deal, one touch deal, so it couldn't be easier to operate. Remember that it also has a 60-minute auto shut-off. I don't know about others but it gives me peace of mind because my mind is terribly forgetful. ☺ Overall I can highly recommend this brand at the moment. It meets all my needs and I find it a fantastic addition to my cold bath. I don't have central heating and everything helps. Shelf heaters are more suitable for smaller rooms, but they just don't work. This heater is bigger than one would want in a small space, but it's not big enough to bother me where I'm sitting. To say it's an eyesore or bothers me would be an exaggeration. I mean it's a crappy bathroom. For what it adds to my chilly/cold mornings I can deal with the space it takes up on the floor. 5 stars, easy. If it stops working or the heating element fails I will definitely update my review.
