Review on Pebbled Leather Solo Kilbourn Backpack: Sleek and Stylish Travel Companion by Marina Knutson

Polite and cultivated

I use public transport to go to work every day. I can't even tell you how many times I've almost been knocked over by someone's huge backpack because they just had no idea how far it reached from their body. I never want to be one of those people who make it seem like going to the Andes for work. I mean, seriously, what the hell are you guys doing on this? Tent? This solo backpack is specially designed for city people. Do you know how I know? Because the manufacturer uses the word "suave" in the ad text. When was the last time you heard the word "gentle" without irony? Even the most interesting person in the world will probably do without this bag the next time they climb Kilimanjaro. In fact, this is a briefcase converted into a backpack. The bag itself is pretty cute. It is relatively thin and compact, but offers enough space to stow everything you need. There are two large compartments: the one closest to the wearer's back is perfect for carrying your lunch or other slightly bulkier items, and the one closer to the back has compartments for a laptop and e-reader/tablet (carefully marked as such). . Both compartments have double zips so they can be opened from either side. In addition to two large compartments, there are three smaller ones. The first has a flap with magnetic closures that has compartments for pens, a wallet and a mobile phone. There is a narrow zip pocket above it. And finally, the mysterious soft "slit" closest to the body (behind the largest compartment). It is open at both ends but the bottom is held in place with velcro. I have no idea what it could be used for, but it's available if you find a use for it. Other features include two small side pockets at the bottom, a top handle and comfortable padded adjustable straps (the excess of which can be fastened with a small Velcro strap). Pebble black leather gives it a sophisticated (slightly masculine) look and is nicely accented by distressed brown leather inlays. There is a star deduction because of the weight. While the durable materials and construction are definitely a sign that this is a durable and well-made bag, I prefer something lighter because once you've loaded it with your belongings, any extra weight will do. a beautiful, durable and, yes, very "polite" bag for the modern office worker.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Almost everything is included
