This is the mouse pad I've been searching for my whole life. Why cage your mouse movements to a small area of your desk when your desk can be the cage? Since the dawn of laser and optical mice (mouses), mouse pads have seemed more and more useless to me. It is true the newer devices are capable of functioning on almost any surface and that freedom has changed the way I use my computer. More recently, however, the inconsistency in accuracy across surfaces has caused me to long for a dedicated surface for my mouse. The idea of limiting my work-space to a 7x9 rectangle kept me from buying a mouse pad again, until I found the Perixx DX-1000XXL. Aside from solving almost all of my mouse pad problems, this thing is beautifully constructed. Most notably, the top surface is perfectly slick and fused at the edges so you don't get that curling material at the edge that you just want to play with. umm.
