After years of accumulating a massive CD collection I finally started collecting vinyl records because they have their own unique sound and make for great works of art to display at home. I had the idea of hanging albums in my apartment. The only problem was that frames would be very expensive to buy as most frames cost at least $10 if not more. So I went to Revain to look up frame prices and came across these album mounts. I liked their "3D" look and saw that they were a lot cheaper so I decided to try them out. I bought 4 for my first purchase to try. I received them in the mail within a few days and they were securely packaged. They were very easy to assemble and hang on the wall. In fact, you don't even need to get out a hammer and nails to mount it on the wall. I just use push pins (which I've been doing for years when hanging figures on my walls) and they work just as well and are much easier to attach to the wall and also less damaging to the wall. You can adjust the mount to any height you want for your records. After hanging them up I thought they looked amazing. After those original 4 mounts I bought 16 more so I currently have 20 albums mounted/hung on my bedroom wall in my apartment. I definitely plan to buy more. The only downside I've seen with them is that if you don't tighten the brackets enough your albums can hang on the side instead of straight and the edges/holes of the albums (where you pull the real vinyl out) begin to open up more, because the sleeves of the records are sticking out a bit. So you need to be precise about how you position the mount in height. If you have too much height clearance in your mount where the top edge of the mount doesn't touch the top of the record sleeve, this will happen. So be specific about how you assemble the mount and you'll be fine. Finally, I highly recommend buying these instead of frames if you plan on displaying or hanging your albums. For three reasons.1. Much cheaper. In the last few months I've spent about $120 to buy 20 record stands. If I were to buy a few good frames here I would probably only get 10-12 frames for the same price. 2. Looks cooler, IMHO. This is of course a matter of taste and some may like the frame better. Of course I need frames for any kind of poster or photo, but I think these "3D" landscape mounts look way cooler for something like that. 3. You can easily change your albums that you want to display as these mounts allow you to easily slide one album in and out and replace it with another. Or, if you want to listen to an album you've been DJing on, you can just pull it out of its holder, put on a record and jam! With frames you have to remove the frame, open it and take it out of the frame, which takes a few minutes compared to 5 seconds for mounts. These mounts are a godsend for those looking to display albums. And if you're a music lover and have vinyl records in your music collection, be sure to hang or mount some of your albums. It will make your home look a lot cooler and give it a more personal feel to who you are. Everyone loves to decorate their home. Why shouldn't music lovers decorate their home with their favorite albums? Highly recommended. Below is a picture of my current display in my apartment.
