Review on Panasonic DMC ZS8 Digital Stabilized 3 0 Inch Camera & Photo by Michael Glassburn

Excellent Solution

Although I have little experience in photography, I am far from being a good amateur. We have two digital cameras. We've taken two trips this year and the shots taken on both were heavily influenced by our camera's capabilities (Comosure is very different from exposure and focus when they're supposed to be automatic). I was looking for a good camera that would take clear pictures (regardless of the lighting), be quick to start up and transition from picture to picture, allow me some flexibility, hold the battery well, but be comfortable for my wife (fully automatic). ) . I chose this ZS8 (I think the camera is at a reasonable price). A week after receiving it (very fast with free shipping) we went to Niagara Falls. What a great solution! The camera starts up very quickly, the lag between shots is very small and 99.9% of the shots are crystal clear. In very few cases the focus was poor, it was the situation and my impatience to let the camera focus for a second or two. The stabilization system is impressive! I filmed fireworks through a hotel window; The focus was sharp and the exposure perfect. At the Butterfly Conservatory (a really amazing place) my nature photos - auto macro and exposure - were perfect. I bought an extra battery for this camera so I was sure it was charged and ready to go when I needed it (didn't have to use it for the rest of the trip - 300 shots, some with flash). Good size that fits my hands without being bulky or impossible to carry/store. I looked at similarly priced Canon and Sony and tried them at my local Best Buy with amazing results: both cameras felt tiny in my hands. Both cameras struggled to capture sharp shots in less than ideal lighting (maximizing zoom up close). The Panasonic was also available for comparison and was really easy to use. Great camera. It will be a camera that we will keep for years.
