Review on Blaupunkt AMP1804BT: Advanced 4-Channel Class D Amplifier with Bluetooth for Crystal Clear Car Audio Experience by Brian Whitmore

At first I was very apprehensive about this purchase. After a bit of research I found out that it's not actually made by Blaupunk, they just rent their name to another manufacturer. an amplifier that is also class D. I was looking for something the same size but with a slightly louder sound. When I first unpacked it, I was a bit disappointed. Build quality looks poor, as do cheaper Chinese industrial parks. All screws are Easley Phillips screws with the head removed, as opposed to traditional hex head screws. They threw a 30 amp fuse in the bag with the wiring harness almost like it was an afterthought. There is no fuse anywhere. So you have to buy additional hardware so that you can even put a fuse to match the system. Manual is nonsense. This is the only amp I've seen that claims you get more power into 2 ohms than into 4 ohms. After connecting it to the high input and plugging it in instead of my 1000 watt dual amp, I was disappointed, it didn't get noticeably louder anyway, at least the base was a bit smaller. So if you are reading this and thinking this doesn't sound like a 5 star rating. Well, let me tell you, when I put it in Bluetooth mode, my ears were ringing. Using just standard wired inputs isn't impressive. But this Bluetooth mode is difficult. I had to turn the gain down to keep the speakers from exploding. So happy I went and bought another one. Spend a little more money making your product. 1 Install the fuse box directly in the amplifier. 2 Avoid cheap Phillips head screws and use standard hex head screws. 3 Add an extra transition or two. 4 Give the Bluetooth input its own standalone gain. 5 Pay someone to revise your manual and graphics.
