Yes, it is a power cord.

This is the power cord. Current flows through them. So this works as expected. To justify the five star rating I suppose I could say that this is the most attractive power cord I have ever seen connected to the device I bought it for.

Pros

Longer than the original cord: If you're working in a large project/conference room where outlets aren't always easy to reach, this lets you stay plugged in without having to carry a separate extension cord.
