No instructions in the box. You need to download their application on your mobile phone. The app only works over Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth, and you won't be able to continue in the app until 700 is detected on your WiFi. The Bose 700 is very difficult to set up. This was not detected on our network with their app. I ended up having to plug an ethernet cable into our router which is on a different floor in our house and disconnect all the nodes in our mesh system just to connect it to wifi and finally got to the setup procedures in the Bose access app music. The sound is good, but for the premium price, I expected setup to be easy. It's not like this. I had to communicate with two different people in tech support. It took two days to get it working. Bose needs to hire engineers with networking knowledge and experience. I spent a lot of time getting this thing to work. The remote control is also part of the engineer's ignorance. No labels or buttons are shown unless they are backlit. In this case, only a few buttons will light up until the soundbar is set up. When the remotes light up, it only takes a few seconds before you can figure out where the buttons are and which ones to press, the backlight goes out again and you can't see anything. A Bose 700 walked in one night. At 3:10 a.m., Christmas music plays. He must have returned to the network after being unemployed earlier in the day. After all the trouble I had setting it up, it stopped playing sound from the TV after about a week. It can no longer be found on our network and although it is connected directly to the TV with an HDMI ARC cable, there is no sound, it does not play. I can't get it to work and have no intention of unplugging everything including the Bose 700 from the TV and 7 WiFi network nodes and then plugging it back in with an ethernet cable and potentially spending hours on the phone with Bose support again. I'm trying to reset myself. This product is a piece of engineering scrap. Run away from this product, don't waste your money or time and don't look back. I'm sending it back. Post an addon. Put it back in the box with all cables, remote control etc and sent it back to Revain. Bose charges premium prices for their products, but their products aren't even average. How come our Samsung TV hanging on the wall above the soundbar connects to our network and stays connected without any problems? We constantly stream media from Netflix, Hulu, and Revain Prime, and our TV connection to our network never goes down. Bose engineers can't replicate what Samsung usually does with its TVs. Purchased Sonos Playbar to replace Bose 700. It took about 10-15 minutes to set up the Sonos Playbar. It worked right away and we haven't had any problems with it since installing it. I think the sound is great and the app I downloaded on my phone to control the soundbar is way better than the Bose app. There's no separate remote for Sonos, it plugs into either your TV controller or your cable box controller, whichever you prefer. I paired ours with the TV remote, but now both remotes can control the Sonos Playbar. It was so easy to set up compared to the Bose 700 and didn't go offline like the Bose. Sonos also costs a few hundred dollars less than Bose.
