Due to the scarcity of paper towels on the market, I decided to buy them after reading an article in NYTimes about Swedish kitchen towels. Old towels or rags can be used, but I don't like that they smell over time and just feel like they're getting gross and germ-ridden. I've read that Swedish fabrics are made from a material that doesn't allow bacteria to grow, so stench isn't a problem. Plus the fact that you can just throw them in the dishwasher or washing machine and wash them with detergent is a huge plus. I've been using mine for a week now and I love it!
