I started using this with my work laptop as it has very few ports and I mainly only use it for computing power like my external monitors and keyboard use . The number of ports is large. I could lose the adapter for one of my monitors as it has two HDMI ports. I also have an external camera and microphone that are part of my setup and had no issues with anything connecting. Not only do I have enough ports, but it's also much easier for me to disconnect when I want to use my laptop outside of my desktop. I only need to disable 1 thing instead of 4 (I would run out of ports for everything I currently have with just my laptop!). The reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I noticed that there was some lag, particularly with my keyboard. I have a Logitech keyboard and trackball mouse connected to a Logitech unifying USB receiver. The trackball also had some lag, but the keyboard was worse. I've had this issue with other port replicators that I've tried with this type of mouse and keyboard, so it may not be unique to this product. Regardless, I removed the receiver from the hub and plugged it directly into my laptop. I haven't noticed any issues with my monitors or other peripherals. So aside from the issue with the Logitech receiver (which isn't unique to this product), I'm basically very happy with the hub. It has many options and is a great laptop docking station alternative for quickly switching from a desktop setup to a portable laptop.
