I used to be a fan of Capezio, but these tap shoes changed my mind. They are vastly superior to the Capezio Tyettes in several ways. The faucet itself, which is made of heavier and more durable metal, produces a louder noise. And they sit flush with the outsole, with a thin layer of rubber for better traction. Finally, in addition to the drawstrings, they have a zip closure so my 5 year old daughter can put them on herself. (She takes the tape to class but will use it in the concert.) Her first pair were Capezios, which I always use. And they were really good. But she had outgrown them by the end of the year and she needed new shoes to perform, so I opted for the Bloch (which I always bought for my ballet and pointe shoes and now my dance shoes) as they were less expensive and the Chances are she'll only wear them for a few weeks and then won't be able to fit in them next year. But now I will buy a new pair of Bloch if she needs the next size up. go with 11 to give room to grow. In my experience, Bloch runs about a full size compared to street shoes. She wears size 10 street shoes and size 11 is a bit big but not big enough for dancing. I'll probably slip no-show socks under her tights to fill the space for the concert. 10.5 would also fit, but there's a bit more room for growth so hopefully we won't have to buy a new pair before next year's show.
