Tripplite sent me a check for $2500. I've experienced a surge that got past Tripplite Ethernet's protection (I don't get small surges in my house, they're always very large and will fry a few things below the point of entry if they can. Other brands haven't protected either. I wouldn't say it's a bug tripplite, just my crazy flash situation). My computer was initially connected to both this protector and a router protected by a separate tripplite over ethernet. They found a fault in the ethernet protection when I applied for the warranty. Since everything was connected to their brand and the ethernet protection was broken, they are now replacing everything. I will stay with Tripplite forever because they gave me no problems and bought all my stuff new. When I called her I didn't think I had a claim (because the computer wasn't connected to the ethernet protection, only the router) but the woman informed me that I had a possible claim. Seems like the warranty is perfectly legit if your surge protector suffers surge damage as well. These folks are happy and willing to replace anything that is the result of a hardware failure as long as there is little evidence that it actually happens. Can't recommend enough
