I can find really cute backpacks that don't suit my needs. Coming back to school full time convinced me to look for something better and this bag does the job perfectly. Looks stylish and the color combination is all season. Below is a liner to keep it from falling (aaaaaa). The laptop sleeve is well padded and fits in the pocket for my Surface Pro 7 leaving room for more. I can fit a few notebooks and books and the bag stretches just enough to fit without the seam tearing. I live in PNW and it holds up well in the rain with no leaks, stains or color shifting from jacket/clothing chafing. A few criticisms: 1. The front pocket only has 1 zipper. There's a gusset of sorts on either side, but I'm still worried about something popping out and would have preferred even part of it to open up at the top. Inside pockets are varied and numerous. Even when they are (partially) empty, they stick out enough that the items you put in the bag can get caught on them when the bag is a bit full. It's an annoying reminder to respect my back and carry less. Also, pen pockets aren't actually pockets. If your pen has a clip, it might fit, but a bear will take it out.3. The side pockets are definitely too small for a water bottle (any size). I use them for my sunglass case and pencil case. On the plus side, they aren't flimsy and I don't have to worry about anything flying out if I accidentally drop my bag or rock it. The straps are on the long side. I'm 5'3. I have to put the adjuster on the leather tip for them to fit. I think they better stay in the right position. Good choice for the price!
