This is a really great combination, Behringer UM2 audio interface and Samson Q2U microphone. I used the USB CAD U37 microphone and was amazed by the difference. Where have I been all these years? Get this combo as suggested by the podcast experts. It's so easy to set up and use. The volume controls for the microphone input and headphone output make recording and monitoring so easy. I use it for podcasts after blogging for a few years. The microphone perfectly picks up speech from 2 to 15 inches without background noise. I don't need more distance and I haven't tried it for direct music recordings. Buy a hanging microphone stand. For $12-$20 you get the flexibility you need. The small tripod that comes with the mic works but limits headroom. I'm always away from the table. I can't believe how good the mic and control box are. I highly recommend this combination. You will not be disappointed. Goodbye USB mic and all the fuss it brought.
