I like this carpet. A small branding element in the bottom right corner doesn't catch my eye as it's not an actual engraving, it's an engraving or something. Heck, you can rotate the mat 180º and put a coaster on top. As others have said, it took a little time and effort to smooth out the edges. I've made mine over time, mostly on the corner with large books. I'm considering getting another one for work. I bought this to replace a "playmat" that was porous and difficult to clean. I don't even eat at the computer, but the smallest particles get caught in the fibers and it takes a brush to remove them completely. This rug is just a textured surface that looks like leather (I don't know if it's leather) but my point is that it doesn't have any fibers for things to get stuck in, it's very easy to clean without on having to resort to a damn brush. Well, one of my concerns about switching to this mat from a gaming mat was mainly because I understand that neoprene seems to be more durable and better for mouse tracking. The non-porous material of this mat may appear "sticky" to some people. I use G403 on this guy and it feels good. However, you can always swap out the Teflon mouse feet for thin felt feet and an arrow, you'll recreate pretty much the same feel as using neoprene or a porous pad, but it's not loaded with branding or silly colors.
