I bought this for my son to add to his first set. We had a month to play with it and build some fun mazes. Some parts are good, others are not. So I'll look at each one individually: Yellow Shard - 5/5. This part does exactly what it's supposed to with no issues and really gets you through some fun multi-pass mazes. In my opinion the best of the set. My only wish was that they contained more of these things! Red Foot - 5/5 Pretty basic stuff, does what it's supposed to. Actually there is nothing more to say. Vertical spinners - 5/5. They're not my son's favorite pieces in the set, but they do what they're supposed to. Orange Loop - 4/5 Cool idea and works most of the time. But if you send too many balloons quickly, they will get stuck (see picture). This works best if you place it after the delimiter to split the stream. Blue Slide and Green Catcher - 4/5 My son loves this detail the most. But it takes some serious planning to set it up properly and properly. In the picture I really have to remove the balls from the column to put them in! You could have modeled the bolt to curve slightly around the second cylinder to match the two brackets, but instead it's at an odd angle to the side. The included trap is too small so we use the larger spool from the original set to catch the balls as that is a much larger target. So, with a little dad's ingenuity, my son loves the balloons that come down here. Red/Yellow/Green Spirals - 2/5 I like the idea of these characters, but the execution was very poor. The two wires on the sides (instead of a fixed slide) cause the balls to lose a lot of momentum when spinning, and the piece itself was poorly designed in CAD, so the slope is uneven and has flat spots or even a slight climb on the red piece. All of this causes the balls to stick VERY strongly to these pieces. I don't know if they were just trying to save a dime on plastic or just a bad designer or something else. I'm almost ready to throw these out because they upset my son. In general, I want them to try these things before they sell them. If they 3D printed the parts and played around with them a bit, they would immediately spot some flaws and be able to improve the design and end up with a much nicer set. However, I wouldn't recommend buying the whole set unless you REALLY just want a few good parts.
