The metal is well polished, nice and shiny, so it's nice to look at. The inscription "MAMA" and "DAUGHTER" is built into the metal each night and darkened to make it easy to read. The daughter's heart actually fits into the mother's heart as announced. I bought it for my daughter to give to my wife.
