Almost Perfect Filter

I have been using this external filter for 3 months now. It replaced a Penn-Plax Cascade canister filter that started leaking about the fourth year I've had it, and nothing I did stopped the leak. Pros: It's very quiet. I can't even hear it standing next to it and sometimes I have to check if it's really on. It's well designed. I like the tube release so I can take it apart and clean it. The media compartments fit tightly together to prevent water from flowing around them and allowing media to pass through. That was my biggest complaint about Penn-Plax. I just wish it had a carrying handle. I also like how all the media comes out at once instead of having to eject it one at a time. The compartments are large enough to hold a ton of media. It's so easy to walk. Just pump it up a few times, let it fill up and plug it in and it just works. Cons: Doesn't this include an atomizer? How is that possible? Tossing one in your pocket will cost you like a nickel. Also makes no sense. The inlet and outlet hoses that hang down your tank are black, but the fittings that connect the hoses are as white as can be. It looks awful when you look into the tank and you see all the black tubes on the back side next to very white detailing so bright it throws everything off. Hate it. Also make these parts black. The clips that hold the lid to the canister don't actually hold the lid to the body. It just keeps the lid off. My Penn-Plax did the same thing, leaking right out of the lid's seam. You'd think the clips hold the lid against the case to ensure a tight seal, but that's not the case. I'm assuming that's why this filter is leaking, just like my old filter. The tube it came with looks fragile and cheap. Nothing beats the durable tubing that comes with Penn Plax filters. They need to be reinforced a little or remade with thicker material. So far I'm happy with this filter and would recommend it. If it starts leaking in the next few years, it will definitely be a failure. If Fluval would solve the problems I'm having with this filter they would succeed, but for now it's just a pretty good filter, not great.
