I have had several of these towels over the years and absolutely love them. However, the one I just received is disappointing. The others I had (of the same brand and style) didn't have an elastic (around the seam of the turban). This one does. When you barely roll the turban, the elastic is so tight that it compresses the face, ears, and base of the skull, causing slight pain. And after just a few minutes of wearing it, it leaves noticeable dents around the forehead and face (like wearing a hat that's too tight). I have a medium sized head so that's not a problem. I checked to see if the elastic can be removed, but it's sewn into the seam. I usually wear it with my previous turbans for 10-20 minutes. I couldn't wear this for more than a few minutes. The logical answer would be not to twist it as much, but if you do, the moment you button it up, the elastic will start pulling all up and away from your head. I've read the description and it doesn't mention elastic anywhere (at least I don't see it), so at this point I don't even know if there is another non-elastic type (unless it's listed in the description). Looks like I'll have to look into another brand.
