They are two identical floor lamps and one of them is glued on. Pull the chain and nothing will happen. I really didn't feel like changing the bulb without swapping out the second, and I wasn't thrilled to swap out both if one was working fine. Disassembled the broken lamp and found something almost identical to this item inside. . Decided to order this and see if I can get it to work. Didn't have to do anything to make it work - everything was great and easy to swap out with no modifications. Spent more time disassembling and reassembling the lamp (due to the way it is assembled) than installing this part. I was even able to replace the chain with the original chain with a small pair of pliers and an extra 5 minutes of force. The switch action is smooth and light, and much better than the switch originally installed in the lamp. In fact, I ordered a second one to replace my second lightbulb simply because the switching action is so smooth. I am very glad that I disassembled the lamp and found that only this part can be replaced. Save time and money by not having to buy brand new lightbulbs!
