Review on 📱 Ulanzi ST-03 Metal Smartphone Tripod Mount: Cold Shoe, Arca-Style Plate for iPhone 12 Pro, Samsung Huawei & More by Chad Slaughter

I bought this on a whim, thinking it would be nice to be able to mount the iPhone on a tripod with a quick release plate. The ST-03 was one of the cheapest phone mount options, and Ulzani is something like Neewer, one of those up-and-coming import brands that do decent stuff for the price. I realized what the heck, I'll try. I'm very glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well designed and well made this mount is. First, it's solid metal, not plastic. Archwire attachment slots are thoughtfully machined into the base, and the base also has a 1/4 threaded slot for direct connection to a tripod bolt without a quick release plate (or for mounting on another quick release plate). The phone is resized with a metal screw, not cheap springs or plastic like some of the other iPhone holders I've used. When you screw it in, it's installed. And when you're done, it all folds up into a neat little form factor that fits easily in my pocket. Something like a toy transformer. I am impressed. The only feature it *doesn't* have that would come in handy is the ability to pan or rotate. However, if you connect this to your tripod head via the Arca mount, your tripod head's tilt/pan controls will be fine. Warning: I haven't owned it very long so time will tell how long it lasts, but it's a hard metal so I expect it to last for years.
