Review on 🧩 Montessori Shape Sorting Stacking Toys for 1-4 Year Old Boys and Girls - Educational Wooden Toys for Toddlers 1-3, Color Recognition Gifts by Paul Tilden

Revainrating 4 out of 5

2 + 2 = 4 (but not here)

What you see is what you get. Wooden blocks and base. The pins are firmly attached. As you can see in the square from top to bottom, the pins don't line up perfectly, but I've only noticed this on one character and it's not bad enough to make the toy difficult to use. Blocks "2" and Block "4". Such a toy gives the child the opportunity to discover mathematical principles in a physical game. Unfortunately, the "2" blocks are not half of the "4" blocks, so they cannot be combined on these pins (see image). They also missed the opportunity to make block 5 a combination of block 3 and 2. That worries me less because the regular pentagon is interesting from a mathematical point of view. Overall, this is a good implementation of the idea, but I want the Montessori toy to really maximize exploration opportunities, and the ratio of '2' to '4' is really a missed opportunity.

Pros
  • Early development and activity toys
Cons
  • Disappearance
