Well worth the investment if you are a serious photographer! ๐Ÿ˜€

I've had Canon and Nikon flashes and put them to good use, Yongnuo 580iii is often used for real estate photography. Now E-TTL is especially needed when you're doing events or where there are a lot of light changes (mostly non-studio environments) and you don't have the time or inclination to keep shooting to get the right amount of performance. Otherwise, a normal manual flash without E-TTL is sufficient. But this Godox also has the best battery life with the included 22.2Wh single battery. Compare that to any flash that uses 4 AA batteries, each of which even at 2800mAh only puts out 13.44Wh. Much less if you use a typical 2000mAh 9.6Wh battery. Godox basically gives you twice the power without worrying about dying battery. If you use it for long sessions, you definitely don't want to change batteries and miss important shots. That being said the build quality really rivals some flashes like the Canon 580EX-II which I've had for many. years (at the price of $550 at the time). Though her head went stiff at first, she relaxed a little, but not so much that her head tilted on its own like Yongnuo did. A 360 degree rotation feature is great for aiming the flash in any direction. My Yongnuo had this limitation where I wanted to turn my head to the right. The zoom function can also be expanded from 20 mm to 200 mm. Most of them only go up to 105mm. Guided S1/S2 modes plus 2nd-curtain sync for long exposures that freeze your subject at the last moment; In fact, with 2nd-curtain sync, you get nightclub shots with a blinding light in the background, but subjects are still sharp. Of course, high-speed sync is amazing even if your camera can only do 1/180. " Max. When you photograph your pets, children and moving objects, the speed of 1/180" is too slow to get sharp photos. If you want to do macro photography or freeze motion beyond 1/180"-1/250", then this HSS mode is a must. And here's the bonus; When using this flash in combination with Alien Bees you can fire Alien Bees at any speed in HSS mode as the AB has a built in very sensitive slave mode that works great with no cables or special setup. The gel that I will use from time to time when I want to match the color of the environment or add touches of different colors to the background. It's always good to have. The diffuser also came in handy to soften the light a bit to get rid of the harsh shadow. The supplied charger also charges the battery quickly! I know the Canon charger lasts forever! All in all, it's a necessary flash. I will most likely go with the external flash remote. Definitely get it if you are thinking of a quality flash compatible with E-TTL and HSS. This flash works great with my Canon EOS R!
