If I didn't know better (and without actually opening the controller) I could say that this uses official Microsoft hardware and uses a new wrapper. . I installed this remote alongside the official Xbox One controller. The only noticeable difference I could tell was the home button. Even looking inside the battery remote, I noticed that some of the labels on the microcircuits are the same on both remotes. The only downside is the price, if you pay that much for the controller you can buy the official remote control. Heck, look around hard enough and you might find it cheaper. I'd like to do more homework first, but I'm still happy with my purchase. I needed an extra remote anyway and this is perfect for that purpose.
