update 03/17/2021 They finally replied to me with amazon support at gvmled. I received a new complete device and was asked to keep/dispose of the old one. Just before the replacement arrived, the power switch failed completely. Upon opening it I saw that the board was quite dirty, but the main problem was the colder soldering at the switch terminal in the "on" position. The top (one) pin is next to the plastic wall and will probably be very hard to solder during the factory rush. The pin wasn't bent to secure it either. Colder solder and lack of support eventually knocked it out. This is why people who have the problem notice it after a few months of use and then it gets worse. It took about an hour to investigate the problem, opening the main unit, removing the solder (the longest part, be careful not to smudge) and then carefully re-soldering. The switch seemed so safe. Even better than the replacement when it arrived and works great. If this happens outside of the warranty period (or if you keep your old defective unit), do not landfill or recycle it. It should be opened and repaired if possible. Good luck to everyone and repair photos are attached. Original Review: I use this light in my studio and loved it for the first month. It comes on 2-3 times a week for meetings or filming so the switch is flipped 4-6 times 5 days a week, sometimes less frequently. The switch didn't start to work stably after a month, but only intermittently, after 2 months. You have to wiggle it back and forth up to 10 times and flip the switch to a weird center grip zone where it turns on and stays on. Even when it's on, sometimes it turns off randomly. I thought it might be warm but used a direct fan to test and no. Seems to be a problem with the power button. Emailed GVM via their website over 4 weeks ago and then a week ago. No answers at all. He asked for an order number and so on. I'm definitely still under warranty. Had to comment in a GVM IG post that it's very easy to get a different email address for an Amazon social media order. Tried last week and still no answer. Will update when I hear anything. BTW, this doesn't come with the app, and don't worry if you use it with a smart plug. The light resets to a baseline of tungsten and 50% brightness when the power goes out, so you'd better set it up and then turn the switch off. Or you? Depends on how good these circuit breakers are in the long run.
