This is an aqueous substance which when mixed with water causes an exothermic reaction (e.g. heating on use). The post shampoo bottle has a spray cap that allows easy access to the ten doses that come with it. Of course, if you have long hair, you can use the product 7 or 8 times. Those with short hair can approach 20 applications. I found this to be a replacement for the conditioner, although the bottle says you can use the conditioner afterwards. Makes hair less frizzy and easier to care for. My hair tends to be straight, so a standard conditioner is best, but those with coarse or curly hair may need this a few times a week.
