We recently found black widow spiders in our garage where I kept my wrapping paper. Almost every paper tube had a web. I bought two more of these to keep the spiders away, which they seem to do with no problem. If it's only partially filled with wrapping paper, it won't stand on its own. I used one for the Christmas wrapping paper and the other for the Birthday wrapping paper and then put both of them in the bin to fix the fact that they won't stand on their own when partially full. I feel so much better just knowing that now I won't accidentally bring dangerous spiders into my house.
