To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for these towels. However, I was pleasantly surprised. In my experience, these towels are very absorbent. Now, if you regularly swim at the beach, absorbency can be an issue. We go to the beach 1-3 times a year. They are perfect for lying down, light water and those who are in the sea for hours, I would only recommend them on a hot day when returning to your destination. I wouldn't recommend swimming for hours and then riding in a car (unless you have leather seats like me). We've used them a few times so far after swimming in the creek at home and whatnot and I haven't seen any issues with fraying or a raggedy appearance. For the price I paid I was again over the moon!
