Last Saturday we did a 5 mile hike for the first time to use these crampons. There is fresh snow on the route and not so much ice. Both my boys are a size 12 and 13 so we got this teenage cat size as suggested. Both crampons kept falling until the first piece of metal broke on the first mile. Since we had no choice, we had to take it off and drive on. It was so frustrating that every two pairs of crampons, four pieces, broke after about 3 miles of walking. They all broke in the same place where the metal hook connects to the rubber hook. We adults used regular Revain cats and everything worked fine. You can imagine my kids rolling off the trail that day and if you care about your safety DO NOT buy this product! I assume this product has manufacturing defects and hope I can give them ZERO stars!
