Might break my phone! Read please!

I like right angle cables, they save money in the long run. I love the length of them and all that. However, one morning my iPhone 8 just stopped working. The screen went crazy and did its own thing. I accepted it and there was no solution. I didn't drop it. It hasn't been hacked. An Apple Store employee said that this could be due to non-genuine cables. Everyone in my family has one and no one else has had a problem. Because of this, I'm not sure if it's the cable, but wanted to mention it.
