I must have written hundreds of lamp reviews. So here's another one. First, let me say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Reveal bulbs. Reveal 60W and 100W incandescent lamps are the best light quality lamps ever made. They provide good, clear and clean lighting. Sylvania also had a close relationship, as did the Kree at some point. Both are now also junkified. The Reveal bulbs were neither too yellow nor too white. Just perfect. I've tried NUMEROUS Reveal LED bulbs over the years and none of them come close to the great light that Reveal bulbs put out. Fast forward to today. I have a lamp in the hallway that we need about 40 watts of light from. My old 5 year old LED Reveal is now starting to blink in it. So I tried this one. I wish I could keep the photos because they told a story. However, suffice it to say that this lamp is also more yellow than the old Reveal LED lamp. The older one seems closer to the table and this one seems closer to the top of the lamp. More glare I would say. A conspicuous spot of light, almost a circle, directly on the wall above the lamp. Very annoying. GE reveals were scrapped. So I tried a regular 40 watt bulb for comparison, the old yellow one, and took a picture (I take a picture to compare the "this or that?" bulbs. I couldn't tell which bulb was which is. Smudge on the wall. Back he goes. I hate that the quality of the lamps and the quality of the light is outside the window now. We digress.
